The town of Los Santos de la Humosa is situated on ledges where Alcarria dies more than 900 m. height above sea level.

Located in an area of Campinas east of the Community of Madrid, known as the Alcarria of Madrid. The municipality is located in the desert of La Alcarria of Alcala, seated on two sides setting up a V-shape giving way to the valley of the river Henares.

===== History =====
Prior to his current location is situated on the eastern bank of the river Henares from time Conventual Division Augusta Roman Caesar I-II century under the name''Fumoso "due in part to fog or mist that causes the river in its banks. In addition to the remains of the original village in the term Fumoso are listed several archaeological sites of the town's original settlement took place along the river Henares, but as a result of epidemics suffered by its inhabitants, was deserted and gave rise to a resettlement of the population in the area occupied by the modern town, a fact that could have happened to the X-XI century. The title of Villa began to be recorded in public and private documents from the late fifteenth fact that prompted a frantic activity and marking define the term, which would lead to endless lawsuits engage with other towns and villages around, like Alcalá and Santorcaz.
With the construction of the bridge over the river in 1888 (until then (crossed by fords and boat) and the remodeling of the way of Alcalá, it relaunched the lives of people and start the break with the rural environment to achieve our days when the town becomes blurred in favor of the modern population and industrial sources in the service sector and industry.

===== Patrimony =====
The people of the saints of the Humosa is located in the southern half of the municipality, at the top where it starts wilderness area, so that the sharp drop in both existing slopes produces successive steps of the houses. This unique configuration provides settlement and the people of one of its most important features that make the beautiful views of the people in the best balcony over the valley Henares.
The oldest building in town is the Parish Church of St. Peter the Apostle, seated on top of it, from where it dominates and displayed a wide horizon. Billed as a Cultural, construction began in 1562 as the first master Nicholas Ribero works, and is finished by Pedro Lamaze in 1677. Building a single nave with three sections that indicate the Tuscan half columns decorated with Baroque townhouses and whose head, houses paintings of the eighteenth century.
The town has two chapels. The Virgin of the Humosa, built in 1677 in the same spot where stood the old chapel from 1384 and where tradition says the Virgin appeared to the shepherds Humosa revealing the site was enterrai.la image. It contains beautiful paintings of the early eighteenth century decorating the chapel, and features a canvas painted with images of Saints Justo and Pastor Children.
The hermitage of the Virgen de la Soledad, on the edge of town, along the road to Pozo de Guadalajara, was lifted by the Cabildo de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in 1576 for placing the image of the Fifth Anguish. Currently holds inside the statue of Our Lady of Solitude.
