East of the Community of Madrid, the city of Corp, located in the interfluve of the river Henares and Tajuña, to 860 m. of altitude.

Located in the countryside of Henares east of Madrid. The town is nestled on a hill called El Colmenar, surrounded by streams and springs. On both sides of this hill runs the stream of the Rabbits and the Arroyo de Valdenabos.

It belongs to the judicial Alcalá de Henares, the countryside of County Henares, Madrid province.

It is unknown what are the sources that give name to the town, the more accurate theory could relate his name with its geographical location as carp (carpus-tent). This village is rich in water, can be found within its boundaries dozens of springs. For a while the water supplied to the court of Philip II, Philip III, Philip IV and Charles II the “King Source”, but now its waters are not valued for its strong taste and it is very calcareous water.

Corp we appeal to both its historic and natural environment that surrounds it. In many of the private homes of the people there are wineries, sample its agricultural tradition, but its greatest asset is to stroll through the many trails that traverse the countryside of the Henares, fit to travel on foot, by bicycle. In the Plaza of the Constitution find the Church of Santo Domingo de Silos, built in the mid-twelfth century but destroyed during the Civil War and rebuilt in 1940. He had, before his plunder, some painters of considerable artistic value in the altarpiece. In the tower we can see a carved heads projecting from the facade. In the same square is the Palace of the Marquis of Mondejar, privately owned, probably from the eighteenth century. The building is flanked by two symmetrical towers and the entrance door there is an interesting stone shield. Finally, near the cemetery is the chapel of the Holy Christ of Pity, in whose honor they celebrate the festival of Corp in September.
