Location of the municipality
Located in an area of Campiñas east of the Community of Madrid, known as the Alcarria of Madrid. The municipality is located in the plain that lies between hills to the Valley of Pantueña.
It belongs to the Arganda court, district of the countryside of the Henares, Madrid province.

History
Most art-historical jewel of the town is the Monastery of the Immaculate Conception Convent of the Dominican Sisters, and known as the “Convento Grande”. Baroque style, was founded by the favorite of King Philip IV the Count of Olivares Duc1ue. The facade is attributed to Alonso Carbonell, architect of the “Buen Retiro” in Madrid and is very similar to that of the Incarnation of Madrid.
The archaeological remains found at the end of the village of Loeches show that the Celts were the first human settlement in the third or fourth century a. C. After the Celts came the Romans, who did not settle in the village and left only remnants of an old road now defunct. Then, like other peoples of the valley fill you, Loeches ha1o Muslim power fell, until in 1085 Alfonso VI reconquered for the first time, as the bishop D. Bernardo had to repeat the conquest in 1157. In 1555 the Emperor Charles V granted the title of Villa, and since Felipe II in 1579 sold it as a manor and passed from hand to the Count-Duke of Olivares, whose descendants have since been lords Loeches.
Patrimony
In Loeches blend a rich cultural landscape and not painted with olive trees which show its agricultural tradition. Noted for its iconic landmarks such as convents, now inhabited by mothers smelled Carmelites and the Dominicans, and the Pantheon of the Dukes of Alba.
Convent of the Carmelites or “Chico Convent” was founded by the Cardenas family in the seventeenth century. Baroque style church, has in its interior with valuable paintings of the Christ of Burgos and the Virgin del Carmen sheltering Carmelite friars and nuns under his wing (eighteenth century). Also of great value are the paintings of the XVI century altarpiece, highlighting St. Ignatius of Antioch.
The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption dates from the middle of] sixteenth century Renaissance style and is composed of three doors with their respective covers, a Renaissance, another Tuscan and other gothic. He attributed the authorship of the Tuscan home Churriguera. Note the representation of a Calvary in stone of the late thirteenth century, which some experts say it is the oldest of the Community of Madrid
In the Plaza of the Duchess of Alba, is the Pantheon of the Dukes of Alba, whose altar was buried in 1645 the remains of its founder along with his daughter Maria de Guzman (Duchess of Medina de las Torres and Marquise will Eliche).
